Theatre NO99

|
With a mix of modern takes on old classics and plenty of cutting-edge material, the forward thinking Theatre NO99 has established an impressive cult following in Tallinn. Founded in 1980, for 24 years the theatre operated under the name of Vanalinnastuudio, before changing to the current NO99 tag. The new name derives from the way it numbers its productions - the first was N099 and they have been counting down ever since! Of course the productions are predominantly in Estonian but if you are hell-bent on immersing yourself in the bohemian atmosphere of the performing arts then why not check out the theatre's cellar lounge... Jazz concerts provide the perfect backdrop for discussing the merits of Chekhov over Pavlovich. |
