Peppersack reviewed by Matthias from Germany on Apr.27.2008 | "rustic food of mostly good quality.
the starter (selection of fish) was too salty, and the jellied eel only existed out of jelly and fishbones.
but the main dishes (different beef dishes with intersting spices) were of excellent quality."
Olde Hansa reviewed by dorinda from United Kingdom on Feb.28.2008 | "We had a fantastic time at the Olde Hansa. The service, food, drinks, decor and atmosphere are excellent. A truly memorable evening."
Silk reviewed by FrequentFlyer from Italy on Feb.11.2008 | "I had dinner twice in there. Found the sushi good, very well presented and prepared in reasonable time, even when the place was busy. Service was chilly but efficient."
Pegasus reviewed by jenny from Sweden on Jan.31.2008 | "Visited many restaurants in Tallinn but Pegasus definetly cooks real quality food. Prices are very good compared to other places that I visited in Tallinn. Service is friendly and descreet, Saturday live jazz is absolutely stunning."
Troika reviewed by Paul Neale from United Kingdom on Jan.30.2008 | "Firt came here 3 years ago and the staff were courteous and the food was good. Went again February 2007 and the staff seemed arrogant and disinterested. They seem to have outgrown themselves and they don't much care about the punters."
Sushi House reviewed by Mark Davis from United Kingdom on Jan.20.2008 | "How disappointing! It was so much worse than our first visit. The lighting was so bright we asked for sunglasses! They did manage to turn it down a bit. And the food...not good, it was presented on a little wooden boat...why?? Its such a shame because it could be so much better. We left still hungry and will not be returning! "
Olde Hansa reviewed by A traveller from United Kingdom on Jan.15.2008 | "We absolutely loved the whole concept of Olde Hansa. Attention to detail has paid off and the place is something really special which we are going to miss. The atmosphere in the dining halls was so relaxing, made even better by the live music from the little maids in the galleries. The toilets are great too, they must be the most photographed in Tallinn!! We are coming back to Tallinn and Olde Hansa."
Olde Hansa reviewed by Charlie from United Kingdom on Jan.02.2008 | "Excellent night out. My friends and I all had the Town Councilman's Game Feast. It was all immaculately cooked and the flavours were all delightful. I couldn't recommend the food enough. I also particularly loved the 'wenches'. Estonia has more beautiful women than any place I have yet visited and it seemed that the best of them worked at Old Hansa.
If I am ever in Estonia again, I will make sure to return to Old Hansa. The gift shop is brilliant too."
Troika reviewed by sirkka-liisa puokka from Finland on Dec.22.2007 | "I have been your customer for many years, but 18.12 the service was outrageced, 4 women 60+, we requisted 2 bills got an answer,we dont have time for that. ok no problem, but the
waiter said that she had to add 10% service charge. When I said that there will be nothing for the service becouce we did not get any, he stated to act gangster like. This is wit6h love from Finland!! "

Silk reviewed by Igor Stanilis from United States on Dec.09.2007 | "Real chip on thier shoulder types here. Desperate to fit in the higher echelons of European society, paranoid the rest of us look at them as little more than noveau riche, third world, 'new' Europeans. Resent relying on the tourist dollar so the staff make sure they're unnecessarily, almost comically rude.
Obnoxious staff, shitty sushi and a clientelle of lower rung footballer's wives types. Best avoided until they get their act together. Go somewhere that doesn't see it as a chore to take your money.
Wouldn't have happened when the Russians were in charge!"
African Kitchen reviewed by Mark from United Kingdom on Dec.09.2007 | "Excellent Food - I would highly recommend the antelope and the banana beer. The service wasn't amazing but the waitresses were fit so we forgave them, how deeply shallow and perverse of us. "
Pegasus reviewed by Plakboek from Netherlands on Oct.19.2007 | "For such a good recommended restaurant bad service (not interested in people) and untastefull light-meals."
Controvento reviewed by christianpompetti from United Kingdom on Oct.10.2007 | "the best place in tallinn to eat simply good food, good atmophere and good service! my first time was in 96 and of course since then a lot has changed but the restoran is always the same, welcoming and very warm especially during the cold winter.
one place to recommend to all my friends from italy and from london!!
the owner is a great person but one only thing i would love to suggest: please put some italian staff on the floor it may make it even more original but for the rest dont change anything!!
well done to the best in estonia!!"
Silk reviewed by Israel from Israel on Oct.08.2007 | "The sushi is the best in town BUT the service is one of the worse- waiters are doing you a favor serving you, always impatient and usually you will have to wait for the food more than one hour!
Another problem- if you are not happy with what you got (e.g. taste like shi...)- your problem, it will be very hard to return the dish"

Troika reviewed by H. Dekker from Netherlands on Sep.04.2007 | "My husband and i were looking forward to have a lunch at the Troika restaurant. He is a big lover of Russian food, culture, you name it. So he was all bouncing over the thought of ordering his favorite soup seljanka. It was cold outside, so we wanted to eat inside. There were plenty tables left, each could have 4 people. But the waitor pointed at a table by the door, where you sat in the draught and halfway in the hall. We did not like the place and asked if we could sit at one of the empty tables where it's warm and cosy. The waiter replied very impolitely: "No" and added: "This is BUSINESS!" At that point i replied: "Yes, and we are PAYING!" He gave me a dirty look and....walked away! We felt so disappointed! I felt very sorry for my husband, but despite the fact that he wanted to eat here so badly, even he stormed out of the restaurant. I felt ashamed, since i have Russian blood flowing through me. The way we got treated made me thank my mother for emigrating..."
Olde Hansa reviewed by Todd Lindo from United States on Aug.22.2007 | "I enjoyed every minute I was there. It was exceedingly pleasant on the covered outside deck, where I could see fresh mint growing in planters attached to the rails and lovely nasturtiums along the building. Strong beer with herbs was delicious (and got a buzz going, oops). Wild boar plate for lunch was enough to tide me over into the night. The cheese spread and warm bread that came with the superb mushroom soup was comforting. I hope to return!"
Pegasus reviewed by Andrew from United States on Aug.15.2007 | "elitist is a good description, but not in a bad way. Nice retreat to suck back some beers in the tallinn sun!"
Olde Hansa reviewed by Fergus Morrin from United Kingdom on Aug.05.2007 | "Olde Hansa is a little bit Disneyland but the food and the service is great if you look past the daft outfits and "Medieval Times" menus. Our waitress was amazing speaking five different languages and looking after us very warmly, which is unfortunately in short supply in Estonia!"
Silk reviewed by Fergus Morrin from United Kingdom on Aug.05.2007 | "We came here four years ago and were impressed by the understated quality of the cuisine and the friendly professionalism of the staff. However, on a visit this month we had an entirely different experience.
I took a photo of my girlfriend and a waitress quickly came over quite aggressively to tell me that photographs were not allowed. I challenged her as to why, the wind was removed from her sails and she seemed embarrassed, explaining the owner doesn't like it. I asked if I could speak to him but he refused. Altogether the service was poor, the staff rude, the tempura soggy and the sushi below the standard of prepacked supermarket fare. Best avoided. Don't bring your camera!"
