"I have been to lots of different places all around Tallinn but inside this one i do not want to get in.half of the staff does not speak russian what makes you hesitate if you are in russian place or not.one sunday evening was looking for a place where i can ave a dinner with my man.troika was near so we tried to get in.in the middle of the hall the waiter stopped us and said that they are going to close in 1 hour.after two minutes when we decided to have our meal there he was watching us for a while with unfriendly face and finally answered that everybody is gone...what was the point to give us a hope that we can still have dinner there?"

"First time i have been in this pace 2 years ago.since that time everything has changed.at the moment the food there is awesome.i tried many dished just because i prefer to spend my dinner there.atmosphere is quiet lovely.i have also few favorite waiters who serve in the best way.I agree that it is no the cheapest place but in the same time it is not overpriced. We agree to pay for a cup of coffee in Paris 5 euro even when we stay next to the parking place so why do not we agree to pay 2,5 euro in the heart of Tallinn watching TownHall?.Well, in my opinion it is a good place."

"On visiting this restaurant after reading about it online I would not recommend anybody to visit. I cannot fault the food , but this is let down by the severe lack of experience with staff waiting the tables. When the wine ordered was out of stock a bottle at double the price was recommended as an alternative. One of the main courses was served up with something completely different on the plate and the salad ordered that was confirmed twice was incomplete. When asking to speak to the manager about this, instead of sitting down and listening and offering at least an apology he became very aggresive to the point where he physically pushed my partner as he would take no critisicm even to better his restaurant. Great chef, but let down by bad waiting and appalling management."

"Well, may be it is the oldest, however history did not pave the way to maturity... The key word in our description would be "Bad" First of all there was no any sign of the Chinese presence, either among waiters or among the chefs. It was rather Russian-Estonian version of the Chinese food...Bamboo shoots were unsuccessfully substituted by fried ...fresh cucumbers and frozen beans from the nearest supermarket. This was called "Beef with vegetables" - recommend to avoid it... Rise was not cooked properly as well, it was almost impossible to eat it with chopsticks. Second, it was bloody cold inside (we were there in the beginning of January) and local staff, knowing that problem very well, offered us personal heater when we already put on our winter coats while at the table. Next negative surprise was cutlery: steel European knives, forks and spoons, absence of traditional Chinese souses on the table and so on. To crown negative impressions - together with the bill the waiter brought us the news: credits cards terminal was out of order, at least for the last 3 attempts, and advised us to round the corners for the nearest ATM (however, on my insisting to try the terminal it appeared to work OK) Conclusion: if you are in nice mood inspired by the views of the city, or you love Chinese cousin - DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT... "The food was ok but I found the restaurant overpriced. There are much better places nearby in the same price bracket. The place seemed to be in a state of utter chaos. I did not receive the main course I ordered and our main courses arrived at the whilst we were still eating our starters. On the next table they were totally furious. They had waited for an hour and had been brought the wrong food three times in the end half of them didn't eat anything. I decided not to pay a tip but when I tried to pay the bill it transpired that whatever I didn't pay for (including the 10% mandatory service charge) the waiter would have to pay from his own pocket and he would not receive the service charge anyway. So, in the end I paid the service charge but I feel very sorry for the poor way they treat their staff and I won't be going back."

"I think over-rated. Whilst the candle light is atmospheric it hides what is on the plate. Most things come served with spelt and there is a reason this was last poplular in medival times. Service at the door was great we were seated quickly without reservations but the service during the meal was some of the slowest I have ever experienced. I enjoyed the dried elk meat and the honey beer other than that I would not go back. "

"Wonderful, great food, service and atmosphere. I would recommend walking the extra 10 metres to try this restaurant rather then the Olde Hansa, especially if you love pork or love a place with an open fire and provide a blanket for the legs. "

"I really enjoyed this restaurant with its typical Estonian food (even if I was surprised that it was served with an orange, i.e. with a non-Estonian food). The staff was very kind and helpful, he also supplied me and my friends with information about the Estonian history and culture. I would definitely like to come back again "

"Very disappointing and certainly got worse since my first visit. They initially did the Rodrizio on skewers [though not in the correct unlimited way] Now you just get a small overpriced mixed grill"

"Its a great place to see, and a unique atmorphere! Ive never seen something like the old hansa before. You think you are in a time machine. the food is excellent and the beer as well... sure, if you are used to live just with mc donalds or burger king our us-american friends will not feel the excellent taste. yes and they do not offer tomato catch up ;-)"

"Owner tried really hard to make you feel atmosphere of the midevel period. Candle lights, traditional costumes, music, food, drinks, pretty and kind girls are something worth seeing. I would suggest that you try to make a reservation in order to find a seat. I tried rabbit, elk and wild boar with honey beer. Definately worth seeing, although food could be better. "
