Vanaema Juures

This little gem soon became favourite in our 7 day stay in Tallinn over Christmas. Hearty, homely food served with a smile. It may not be fancy, but if you'd like to try Estonian food - Vanaema Juures is for you. And the prices are very pleasant as well!

Galaxy

Oh boy the Galaxy is opening soon! Don't miss this place. Years ago it was one of the best places for a steak and the piquant egg plant was OUTSTANDING!! Of course the view made it worth it; you might even see Finland!

Restaurant Ö

Have been here a few times. It's the best tasting and the service is outstanding. The decor is a little lame (the seating is even uncomfortable!). However, each bite is an explosion of tastes. Too bad the ratings don't have an 11!

African Kitchen

Our kids favorite restaurant. The food is not quite as unique as it used to be; they have toned down the spices from years ago, but still very good. I like the mafe over rice.

Restaurant Steakhouse Liivi

I have been here 2 times. The first time is average, VERY average for a Tallinn restaurant years ago (things have greatly improved in Tallinn!!). Was not impressed but decided to try again as the location was so convenient. Still not impressed. Food was just O.K., service mediocre.

Peppersack

Atmosphere not as good as Olde Hansa but the sword fight!!?? Food is excellent. Service varies with the season but has always been friendly. Beverages are huge! Prices are good (it IS Old Town!) Try the Pikeman's Feast. It can easily feed 3 people.

Olde Hansa

I have been coming to O-H since 2000 and have eaten there many times as visitors want the "experience". The food has been getting steadily worse over the years. Generally "way too salty" and lifeless as if it has been kept warm under a lamp too long. The coffee is the worst in Tallinn and the excuse is that they didn't have coffee in the Olde days! (that is actually what they told me!) However, atmosphere now is off the charts! Go there for the live music not to eat (but isn't that what a restaurant is for??) Hmmmmm.

Cantina Carramba

I have been to probably hundreds of Mexican restaurants and can say that Carramba is pretty good; definitely not the best. Service is good but the prices have climbed quite a bit in the last 5 years and they now are a bit pricey.

Fahle Restoran

Service is good usually. I have had poor (very slow when not even busy!) service here though. The food is good to excellent. Some of the meat sauces are a bit heavily sweetened. The Tiramisu used to be EXCELLENT and was served on a tile! Lately they have down-graded to the usual plate. Sad. Still a good restaurant however.

Chakra

Chakra serves amoung the best Indian food in Europe. The competition in Tallinn is left far behind. Murg Tikka Masal is the a super choice. The chef is genuine and without compromise to deliver outstanding Indian food.

Great food, great service! Warmly welcomed by Imre Kose, we were guided trough the salads desk. Fresh salads, mozzarella, roast-beef, div. antipasti etc. and the dressings... cherry balsamico mmh! Desert; chocolate panna cotta with oranges, crazy! The Service was quick friendly and taken care in details!

Bocca

Fantastic, fantastic high-class Italian restaurant. Love the decor, service impeccable and the food and wine were all exquisite right down to the delicate Zabaglione for dessert. Best modern cuisine I have had in Eastern Europe!

Alter Ego

One of the best restaurant in town. It really made its name in a short time since the opening a while ago. Service & food on its level. And the best of all for a fair prize. I personally wish all the best for Alter Ego and that the future will be bright for them.

Bossanova, Coralo

5.50EUR Beer, 4.40Cola,Carppacio di Manzo 15.90, 9.90 Pizza Margherita, Pizza Parma 17.90 2GL House wine 12.80 + VAT&Service tax = 76.40EUR Total....Service beside dirty table linen, old flowers, napkins from the guest before, bread crumbles on the chairs a 3/10. Carppacio di manzo, I really would like to know what's the chef's main profession. Pizze very good level but for 27.90 for tow pizza...way over priced. Wine could be a better vinegar. Fact, stay away there are really better restaurants. Where you get all good service especially without to pay service fee, (which is beside no where mentioned), very good food and shorter then 76EUR.

Olde Hansa

If you like the food I ate at Olde Hansa. you have to be really drunk or never been eaten out elsewhere before. Unfortunately I don`t drink much and have been eaten in some other restaurants , and this place will not be the first I attend if I ever come back to Tallin. Nice concept though.

Kuldse Notsu Korts

I have read numerous good reviews of this restaurant, this review is not one of those I ordered what was described on the menu as " thick pea soup " - what I got was something that resembled a type of watery broth with barley, carrots , onion and yes peas ( but of the chick variety ). To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. Being in a restaurant that served typical Estonian food I decided to try something different for my main meal and opted for the wild boar with a mushroom sauce. disappointment again - it arrived in what can only be described as a thick mushroom stew. If only my pea soup was that thick For the curious amongst you I cannot tell you what wild boar tastes like because its taste was completely masked by the mushroom sauce. The waitress service - can be summed up by what follows :- My brother in law also ordered the boar' but his came with an added extra in the form of the bullet that killed it. Take it from me this was no small pellet, it was at least the size of a marble, which he nearly swallowed. Naturally he pointed this out to a very dimissive waitress whose only comment was " It's a wild animal what do you expect " . On asking to speak to the manager she said that he did not work on a Friday night and that was that". We then asked if we could speak to the chef and this was also refused. All we wanted was a simple sorry it should not have happened and that would have been the end of the matter. From that moment on she never came near our table other than to give us the bill.

Olde Hansa

The Olde Hansa is absolutely brilliant ... I was there with colleagues (attending a conference in Tallinn) and it was a brilliant evening. The setting is unique, the food magnificent with medieval music in the background. Many thanks ... its great and left a lasting impression.
