The concept's a bit odd, and the theatrical flair of the place seems slightly disingenuous...still, the chef of this self-titled "gypsy restaurant" is a full-blooded Roma. Occupying a large medieval cellar, the decor, entertainment and service are designed to make you feel like the guest of honor on a special night of celebration in a gypsy camp. The waitresses are layered in loose, colourful fabrics and the walls covered with ornately elaborate paintings. So what's gypsy cuisine, you ask? Seems to be very meaty cold appetizers and mains (and pricey at that), but you can surely find out by stuffing yourself with one of Romale Marcelle's hearty feasts. Live gypsy music Thursday through Saturday nights. Closed daily from 15:00 to 18:00.
