When a restaurant uses categories like 'indulge' and 'ascend', instead of 'food' and 'floors' on their website, you know exactly what type of pretentious, high-class joint it's trying to be. Of course there's nothing wrong with being high-class, and some would even argue that a little pretentiousness rarely goes amiss... No, the problem with such places is that they set themselves these dizzy heights and then fall embarrassingly short. Not so with the winged Pegasus however. The sublime, modern spaces they've created on the first and second 'ascendencies' of their restaurant are quite extraordinary, and the innovative fusion food is close to divine. Meanwhile the minimalist bar on the ground floor is an essential rendez-vous for cocktail-drinking posers. Another Martini, darling? |
