TALLINN - Captain Danny Hay's equaliser earned New Zealand a 1-1 draw in a dull friendly against Estonia here this morning.

Estonia opened the scoring in the third minute when striker Ragnar Klavan raced past the Kiwi defence before beating goalkeeper Ross Nicholson.

Hay hauled New Zealand level 24 minutes later with a powerful shot which gave Artur Kotenko no chance in the home goal.

The game was watched by a crowd of 3500.

Neither team qualified for next month's World Cup in Germany.
