TALLINN - The Leader of People’s Union, Villu Reiljan, said that the party is ready to nominate Arnold Ruutel to run for a second five-year term as Estonian president in the elections scheduled for this autumn. However, the official candidate of People’s Union for president will be chosen and announced in mid-June.

According to Reiljan’s remarks published in the Postimees daily People’s Union doesn’t have any other candidate at this moment. “We believe that Ruutel has done a very good job as Estonian president," he added.

In his turn, Ruutel’s spokesman Eero Raun said that the president is not in a hurry to make his decision regarding the nomination.
