E-stonia Guards Cyberworld

For some time Estonia has been regarded as one of the leading countries in the world when it comes to technology, with a higher percentage of the population wired up to the web than any other country and the government operating in paperless offices. Perhaps then it's no wonder that this diminutive state, dubbed by many as 'E-stonia' has been chosen by NATO as the home of a new centre of cyber-security excellence which will be set up in Tallinn.

The United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovakia will spearhead the project with the goal being to keep NATO ahead of the game in the face of the increasing threats of cyber-terrorism and crimes online.

Estonia certainly has plenty of experience in the field after many governmental websites were brought to their knees by Russian hackers (allegedly supported by the Kremlin) angered by the Bronze soldier fiasco which caused major tensions between Estonia and Russia. Let's hope that they've learnt from their experiences!
