It might not sound like the kind of place you'd like to go at night, but Stalker Street is the proposed name of a new road in Tallinn's Rottermann quarter near the centre of the city.

The seemingly odd choice of name is inspired by the cult classic film by Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky, 'Stalker', which was shot on the outskirts of the capital.

Stalker was the name given to those who dared entered the 'Zone' acting as guides for those who wanted to confront its dangers and find what they most desired. If you've got three spare hours on a wet afternoon, Tallinn Life can thoroughly recommend this renowned piece of Russian sci fi... If nothing else it will induce a nice nap.
