The bourgeois obsession with fashion in the West was something always frowned upon by the leaders of the USSR. After all, fashion represents commerce, creativity and personal freedom - foreign concepts in a world where the individual laboured for the glory of the state. Perhaps it was as a reaction to their recent past that so many fashion houses sprung up in the newly indepedent capital, amongst them Ivo Nikkolo, a successful business that's been going since 1994. "Bonjour! How are you? Nous habitons dans Nepal:), it's a beautiful country. But we must say something about the clothes, well, we don't realy think that they're beautiful because it's not really what we usually wear in Nepal... But if a person is wearing clothes like those I'm not going to laugh at that person. When I'm feeling very strange I even might to think that the clothes are pretty.
