Lühikese Jalg

|
Textiles, jewellery, ceramics and glass are all at the heart of the art shop Lühikese Jala Galerii, which was launched in 1993 with the intention of promoting applied art from the workshops of Estonia's new young professional artists.
It worked so well that a second gallery was opened just a few years later, Portaal, just around the corner on Vene 16. Between the two outlets, it is possible to view and purchase the works not just of the new generation of artists in Tallinn, but also of the older Estonian masters.
That it's all a labour of love is quite obvious - just ask a member of staff for more information about the style and techniques of your favourite piece and you'll understand that these guys really are in the right job. |
